The majority of students, who find math and science challenging subjects at school, raise two areas of concern:
-
the overwhelming number of formulas to memorize, and
-
knowing which equations apply to specific problems.
Put simply that’s not how these topics should be learnt as this approach overlooks the true nature of these subjects.
At ÜNI, we focus on developing an intuitive understanding, helping students build mental connections between concepts and formulas. They will learn to derive solutions naturally and foster a deep comprehension in preparation for the next stage in their education journey.
Computer Science
Basic computer literacy is a necessity. The ability and knowledge to leverage a computer's capabilities, is an immense advantage.
ÜNI's Computer Science Education is a computer programming and algorithms course designed for children over the age of 8.
We teach programming not just coding.
What’s the difference? Programming is problem solving. Programming involves understanding, thinking, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and evaluating. Programming is repeating those steps until you have an effective solution. Coding is just a part of programming. Coding is typing. Programming is writing.
When it comes to coding, we take things seriously too. Unlike the popular children’s coding classes that rely on drag-and-drop video game-style softwares, ÜNI teaches Python and C programming languages. C is a powerful language, used widely in all areas of software development for over 50 years. Python, is as popular as it has ever been with extensive applications in AI development.
That may all sound intimidating, but like all ÜNI programs, we design, adapt and adjust things to teach not to lecture.
Mathematics Fundamentals
Mathematics is the language of science. Mastery of it opens doors to infinite possibilities.
ÜNI's Mathematics Course is a comprehensive program designed for elementary and secondary students, focusing on understanding the core principles that form the foundation of all mathematical concepts.
Don't memorize the formulas, derive them.
Mathematics is about questioning, reasoning, deriving, and connecting ideas. It’s not about memorizing formulas. It’s about knowing how to arrive at those formula from basic concepts and how they can be applied in different contexts. Like any successful training, mathematical thinking requires exploring, solving, and revisiting problems until clarity is achieved.
At ÜNI, we make learning math an engaging and fun process. Our approach avoids the trap of rote memorization and instead focuses on helping students build a deep understanding from the ground up. We encourage them to question, to experiment, and to understand the “why” behind every concept.
Once the relationships between ideas and different areas of math are understood getting the right answer to a homework problem or test becomes a trivial task. We make sure our students are confident in applying their knowledge and get ahead.
Introduction to Physics
Physics is the key to understanding the universe. It reveals the hidden rules behind everyday phenomena.
ÜNI's Physics Education is a dynamic program designed for secondary students, focused on unraveling the mysteries of the physical world through experimentation, problem-solving, and deep understanding.
We re-discover the laws of physics not memorize them.
Physics is about discovering the "why" behind everything we see. It’s about diving into questions like: Why do objects fall? How do forces shape our world? What are the laws governing the movement of planets, light, and energy? Physics is the ultimate problem-solving tool.
At ÜNI, we remind students that physics is exciting and accessible. They investigate real-world phenomena and learn to break them down into simple, understandable principles. From mechanics to electromagnetism, energy to waves, they’ll explore how the universe works, and get satisfaction solving complex problems. We teach students how to think like physicists: questioning, experimenting, solving, and continuously refining their understanding until they grasp the beauty behind the science.
Our program is tailored to engage curious minds and equip them with the critical thinking skills needed to tackle physics whether it is for the joy of doing physics or to do well at school.

Are the camp topics too advanced for young children? No. Over the past few decades, as knowledge has advanced rapidly, the general approach of simplification and dumbing down subjects before they are introduced to children has resulted in false information being taught to children. Take the model of an atom: We still teach children that atoms are made of particles (protons and neutrons) in the centre with other particles (electrons) in orbit just the way planets go around the sun. Almost every book designed for children's education has such illustrations. It is present on all sorts of science-themed birthday cards, brochures, and posters. This is despite the fact that we know such a model is simply wrong. So why do we teach it to our children? The justification is that "It is a simpler model to understand". Easier to understand for whom? Children are amazingly good at imagining what we adults find hard to grasp. This is partly due to the fact that they are not burdened by the many false assumptions most adults have about the universe. Children are not bothered by the idea of fuzziness at quantum level. They do not mind a clock ticking slower on a fast moving spaceship. They are happy to imagine light bending around a massive object. These phenomena are only "strange" if one has been told or assumed the contrary to begin with. Our goal is to teach children about the wonders of the universe based on the very latest accepted and tested scientific theories not based on simplified and ultimately false models.
-
What is the age group of the children in camps? All children participating in our camps must be at least 4 years old and younger than 10. The material at each session is adapted based on the age of the children and their level of familiarity with each topic so every child can explore the topic at their pace and be challenged.
